ABSeq terms of use
Last updated October 23, 2026
These terms apply when you use the ABSeq app for iPhone and iPad or this website. ABSeq is made by Aren Akian, trading as Mekina (“we”, “us”), in Los Angeles, California.
ABSeq is licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA). These terms add what is specific to ABSeq. If they conflict with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA applies.
Using ABSeq
You may use ABSeq on any iPhone or iPad you own or control, as the App Store’s usage rules allow. Comparing, level matching, blind tests, the loudness readings, the spectrum and the sequencer are free. You don’t need an account.
ABSeq Pro
ABSeq Pro adds the loudness, tonal balance and A/B difference graphs, unlimited saved sessions and iCloud sync of your sessions and their audio. It is sold through the App Store in two plans:
- Pro Lifetime is a one-time purchase. It stays with your Apple Account and has no renewals.
- Pro Monthly is an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. It renews automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
Manage or cancel a subscription in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Pro Monthly has no free trial, and neither plan is available through Family Sharing. If you subscribed to the earlier Pro Yearly plan, it keeps renewing on its existing terms until you cancel it.
Prices are shown in the App Store before you buy and may change. Apple will tell you before a subscription price goes up. Apple processes all payments and handles refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com. To restore Pro on another device, use Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases in ABSeq.
Your audio
The files you load stay yours, and we receive no rights to them. Load only audio you have the right to use. ABSeq doesn’t upload your files to us; with Pro, copies sync through your own iCloud account, as the privacy policy explains.
Measurements
ABSeq measures loudness and true peak to published standards and estimates how streaming services will adjust a track. Streaming services set and change their own rules, and only some of them publish them. Treat the streaming figures as a guide, and check a distributor’s or service’s own specifications before delivering a master.
Acceptable use
Don’t use ABSeq or this website to break the law or infringe anyone’s rights, and don’t try to disrupt the website or get around the limits of the free version. You may not copy, modify or reverse engineer ABSeq except where the law allows it.
Our content
ABSeq, its design, this website and the demo song “Fresno” belong to Aren Akian. ABSeq includes open-source components under their own licences, listed in the app under Settings → Acknowledgements. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
No warranty
We work hard to make ABSeq reliable, but it is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in the Standard EULA, and we don’t guarantee that ABSeq will be free of errors or always available. Keep your own copies of your audio files.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data or files, arising from your use of ABSeq or this website, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for ABSeq Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer that can’t be waived.
Changes
We may update ABSeq, and change or remove features. If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top. This version replaces the terms of March 5, 2024.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Disputes go to the courts of Los Angeles County, California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them in your local courts.
